Tudela Studio. The Connectomics Institute

This studio is taught by Enrique Martine in Fall Semester 2014.

The studio will be a platform from which to respond to the increasing complexity of today’s user-centered work spaces and will raise questions about the present and future of work. In that frame of reference, pure ideas and architectural intentions will be confronted by the pragmatic constraints of a specific program and a specific urban site. The standard architectural decision-making mechanisms, what we loosely call the design process, will be challenged and stretched in order to accommodate specific needs, demands and limitations. Students are expected to demonstrate the ability to gravitate comfortably between two poles: unbridled architectural inventiveness; and the transformation of those ideas by the programmatic and context-driven forces at play in this project.
